TalkAway Terms and Conditions:

Please note that a copy of TalkAway’s Terms and Conditions, including fees will be forwarded to you following the initial telephone consultation as appropriate. This will need to be signed and returned to Lindsay prior to the beginning of therapy.

Invoices
These will be sent out at the end of each month and should be settled within 7 days by money transfer. Fees will be reviewed annually with four weeks’ notice given of any changes. Those using private health insurance are responsible for settling the invoice then claiming from the insurer concerned. It is advisable to check the level and nature of your cover with the insurer before agreeing to therapy.

Non- Payment
It is my intention that any late payment can be amicably resolved, but please be aware that if payment is not made, the procedure will be:

  • A reminder of the overdue payment will be sent (via text, email or letter).
  • If payment is not paid within 7 days of the reminder being sent, you will receive written notice that therapy is suspended, pending payment in full.
  • If payment is not received in full within 7 days of written notice being sent, I reserve the right to refer the matter to a solicitor with a view to commencing legal action

Data Protection
Lindsay is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, and all client details, case notes and correspondence are stored securely and treated confidentially, according to General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and the Data Protection Act 1988. You may apply in writing to access an electronic copy of your notes or to request modifications of any inaccuracies. These requests will be dealt with within 30 days. A copy of the full Data Protection Policy can be made available on request.

Safeguarding
Lindsay holds a DBS enhanced disclosure. You may ask to view this at any time. In the event of a safeguarding concern, where you or another person is at risk of harm, there is a legal obligation to share that information with relevant professionals

Mileage and Travel
Both mileage and travel time will be calculated using Google maps.

Cancellation Fees
Lindsay will try to keep all appointments but no liability can be accepted for inconvenience/expense if unforeseen circumstances mean arrangements have to be cancelled or rearranged.

Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are liable to be charged in full.

Electronic Communication
With your agreement, email is an effective method of correspondence.  Email is not however 100% secure and I cannot be responsible for any loss of data.

  • Any documents will be sent as PDF and password protected.
  • You will be referred to by first name only or initials in any emails sent.
  • You shall be copied into any email correspondence with other professionals as necessary.

Liaison
To offer you the best service it is often important to liaise with other professionals involved in your care. This includes people such as NHS Speech and Language Therapists, professional members of an interdisciplinary team, care staff, your GP and other medical staff, and at times your employer or academic tutors. Lindsay will always ask for consent before contacting professionals involved in your care.

Use of video and audio recording
Some assessment and therapy techniques involve the use of video or audio recording, your consent will always be requested. The videos/audio recordings are temporarily stored and will be deleted once viewed. A copy of any recordings can be sent to you on request.
